The Springboks have been playing international rugby since 1891
The Springbok, team are currently the Rugby World Cup holder also ranked number one in the IRB World Rankings .
The team made its World Cup debut in 1995, with Kitch Christie as coach, who led the Boks to the 2007 World Cup title 1995, when South Africa hosted the tournament. The Springboks defeated the All Blacks 15-12 in the final, which is now remembered as one of the greatest moments in South Africa's sporting history.
South Africa regained the title as champions in 2007,with Jake White as coach , who led the Boks to the 2007 World Cup title defeating England 15–6 in the 2007 final
As a result of the 2007 World Cup tournament, the Springboks were promoted to first place in the IRB World
The Springboks green and gold jerseys, and emblem is the Springbok and the Protea. and is currently coached by Peter de Villiers,

Yes the Boks are surely stepping up big time, and its going to stay that way for a long time to come. To be honest it makes totaly thrilled when I see what SA is achieving, but I wish it could become better for all the expats, that are begging to come back. I am a Shark fan from Natal and Sharks are going to take the currie cup again.

The mighty Springboks, whilst not playing the most exciting or attractive brand of rugby at the moment, are pretty much unassailable at present. They play to their strengths, they grind out wins, they kick tactically (and very often) and are still the undisputed masters of the breakdown and the lineout.
The Lions showed that their only real weaknesses are a bit of a lack of creativity in the back line and a crackable scrum but the development of Morne Steyn and Beast Matwarira will come.
They won the Lions tour, the Blue Bulls got the Super 14 crown, they are the world champions, they seem to have this year's Tri-Nations pretty much sewn up and notwithstanding autumn international performances I definitely think Fourie Du Preez, Victor Matfield, Smit, Smith and even Bakkies are in with a shot at the IRB player of the year. Somebody stop them!
